Cannabis 101

Cannabis, also known as marijuana, or pot, is a plant containing cannabinoids and terpenes that causes a psychoactive effect and is used both medicinally and recreationally. It can be smoked, vaporized, ingested orally, sublingually, and also applied topically to the skin.

Cannabinoids and terpenes work together synergistically to produce the “entourage effect,” which is the overall effect a person may experience from consuming cannabis. Medicinal properties of cannabis, depending on the terpenes and cannabinoids found in a given strain, include anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, antiemetic, anti-convulsant, anti-oxidant, antibacterial, analgesic, and more. Due to these medicinal properties, many people consume cannabis to treat a variety of medical conditions: nausea, pain, insomnia, epileptic seizures, MS and muscle spasms, and many more conditions.
